On a Saturday (and a Saturday night at that), I know. In my defence, it is really bloody hot and all I can think about is Stormzy and maybe the best Glastonbury headline set I’ve ever watched, ever.
And it’s lucky we have Glasto to keep us busy because, honestly, there’s not much new music worth talking about.
Ellie Goulding’s latest single is called Hate Me and she doesn’t have to ask twice. Ha, that was cold I’m sorry – Starry Eyed was a tune. I think this song, featuring Juice WRLD will be on Capital 12 times a day very soon.
Friendly Fires released Silhouettes which is funky, and sounds exactly like you’d expect a Friendly Fires song to sound (this sounds like a diss, but I like Friendly Fires so it’s not at all!).
The Daniel Caesar album, CASE STUDY 01, is out and full of beautiful music. I haven’t had a chance to listen to it all the way through, but I already know this album is gorgeous.
Vampire Weekend recorded a Spotify Single – a cover of Bruce Springsteen’s I’m Goin’ Down. Listen all the way through – the instrumental right at the end is really lovely.
A dance-y song? Sure, why not! We Got That Cool by Yves V, featuring Afrojack and Icona Pop is fun as.
Remember Conor Maynard? Me too – I actually owned a copy of his album, and some merch… Anyway, Hate How Much I Love You is harmlessly pop and in a good way.
Not massively impressed this week… But June is basically over, so surely we’ll get some good summery music soon!
